Research Interests

Uncertainty quantification of volcanic processes and probabilistic volcanic multi-hazard (and risk) assessment. Main factors that control the generation and transport of pyroclastic density currents and lahars. Global volcanism and objective selection of analogue volcanoes to overcome data-scarcity issues. Magma physico-chemical properties from magma storage to eruptive conditions. Interrelationship between tectonics and magma generation, migration and intrusion/eruption. Volcano monitoring, definition of volcanic unrest and probabilistic eruption forecasting.
